Parsons Gives Back

Coffee with the CEO

Last month, a few of our new hires sat down for some coffee with Parsons President and CEO, Joel Moryn, who was a new hire in the warehouse over 30 years ago himself, for a face-to-face to answer any questions and chat about his experiences within the company. It was a great opportunity to meet the man behind the curtain and get a better feel for what Parsons stands for. Thanks Joel, for taking time out of your day to chat with our new employees! #culture #values #CEO

Parsons’ Sarah Schulz Featured in U of M Legacy Magazine

Parsons Intern Sarah Schulz was featured in the Spring 2017 edition of the University of Minnesota’s Legacy magazine.

She is highlighted in the publication’s “What’s in Your Backpack?” segment. Sarah’s response? “A hard hat.” Sarah is currently an intern in Parsons’ Technologies division. She’s worked on a variety of projects with the team including one located in a familiar setting, the University of Minnesota Athletes Village.

A senior studying Construction Management, Sarah described her favorite aspects of the industry including commercial buildings and being on the jobsite where “the project comes to life.”

On being a woman in the construction industry, Sarah explained, “More women are getting into construction. We bring a different set of skills, and people are realizing what assets we can be.”

Parsons is in its third year of an internship program that rotates interns between numerous departments to help gain exposure and a fuller understanding of Parsons and the industry. We are proud to work with students whose bright minds and ideas will illuminate the future of the construction industry.

Parsons Vice President Rich Ross Receives MBA

Congratulations to Parsons Vice President Rich Ross on achieving his MBA!

Rich completed the MBA program at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He noted that the program has given him a new set of tools to draw upon that will help address and navigate many business challenges we face each day. In addition to traditional courses, Rich and other members of his program had the opportunity to study abroad in Mumbai, India for their Global Studies course.

On what he learned and the trip’s impact, he explained, “Although I learned a tremendous amount about the challenges that face global businesses from my visits to Google, General Mills, TATA, and the US Embassy, I was most humbled by the people I encountered.”

Overall, he found the program to be insightful, rewarding, and appreciates how it challenged his way of thinking.

Congratulations to Rich on a job well-done!
